What is the cost of Teeth Whitening?

The cost of teeth whitening depends on what kind you want and how much are you willing to spend.  There are about three options that you may choose from.  The three options are In-Office whitening, Professionally dispensed take-home whitening kits, and over the counter whitening.

The in-office whitening would usually cost around $650.00 per visit nationwide.  Your dentist or trained technician would apply a high-concentration peroxide gel on your teeth.  They put on a paint on rubber dam on your gums to protect them.  For 15-20 minute intervals for up to an hour the peroxide is left on your teeth.  Depending how stained your teeth are you might have to return for more bleaching sessions. The advantage of this procedure is you get results faster, it’s the safest form of teeth bleaching and gum and tooth sensitivity is controllable.  The disadvantage is it is more expensive, results can be unpredictable and it’s not permanent.

The professionally dispensed take-home whitening kits usually cost $100 to $400.  They produce the best results according to dentists.  It’s easy to use.  You just apply a lower-concentration peroxide gel on your teeth by using custom made bleaching trays for an hour or overnight.

The over the counter whitening is the cheapest it usually costs $20.00-$100.00.  It is most convenient. Just like the professional dispense kit you apply the gel on your teeth except the tray is a one size fit all.  The whitening strips or paint on applicators only whiten the front of the teeth where as customize tray whitens everything.
